Steve is entering his third year as a coach at SRHS and second year as Head Baseball Coach. Previously, Steve coached youth and travel baseball as well as clinics for the past twenty years. Steve played baseball at Saddleback College where he was drafted by the Oakland Athletics. He subsequently accepted a scholarship and played catcher at from the University of California Santa Barbara where he played catcher and the team was ranked as high as fourth in Division I of the NCAA. During his senior year, Steve led the nation in homeruns for the first few weeks of the season and signed with the San Francisco Giants where he played for a season and a half before suffering an arm injury.
